Felicia

Hello my name is Felicia and I come from a small country city in Minnesota. Since I was a little girl I longed to help woman and babies. I would carry around a baby doll with a stethoscope and doctor bag. I would constantly be feeding and changing the baby. As a child I also dreamt about going to Africa and helping women get healthy and stay healthy. As an adult these two things came together and I went to Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in 2009-2010 in Australia to get training in discipling.

This was the road which lead me to the Birth Attendant School (BAS) in 2011-2012. While there, I learned many things from midwifery books and took classes in the Australian hospital for NRP, CRP, AED, and First Aid. Our school then went to India in the fall of 2011 where I assisted delivering babies in a Government Hospital as a student midwife. We then went to Tanzania and Uganda in 2012 as a student midwife. I came back to the United States in 2012 and had my first child in the fall at a hospital with a midwife.

From going to college, to non-profit work around the world, going to college again, and now here in Hawaii with my army husband I feel blessed this is his first duty station. We have two beautiful children and two pugs. My family all love and know education is the key to help people make informed decisions and truly are my best supporters to bring this education to families. I come alive teaching others about how incredible human bodies are and how they work through the birthing process.

Childbirth education is the key to giving women a chance to understand how birth works and what can help the process of birth. Also, to know what they may be offered during the birthing process. I want to empower women to have a choice and the power to know what the options are available to them and their partners.

I am currently the instructor for the BEST Birth group classes in Kapolei and also teach private sessions.
