Brittany

Junior Doula

Hello dear and congratulations! My name is Brittany and I moved to Oahu in 2023 from Maryland. While there, I cared for my great-grandmother and fostered my love for helping the people around me. I first felt the call to assist with labor and delivery when my mother experienced what would be her last pregnancy. She left early one morning to walk to the hospital, she knew the baby was coming early and returned alone. I knew then that I wanted to assist women through their harrowing birth journeys and bridge the gap for underserved communities!

As time passed, I earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a concentration in Social Work. I then went on to begin my doula certification. These experiences guide the attentiveness I show to the people I have the pleasure of meeting. I grew up in a Virgin Island-South Carolinian close-knit family, where one of our greatest beliefs is that it takes a village to raise a child. However, I realize that this belief can apply to all people. We all need our village while navigating the complexities of life and especially in parenthood.

The philosophy underlying my approach is that, your village is comprised of those born into it and those chosen. As your doula I will support you, as you reach the height of self-actualization and personal autonomy to discover and/or awaken your inner strength. I am here to serve your needs as you step into parenthood. Whether for the first time or again. I look forward to being here for you in any capacity that you may have need.

Many, many blessings!
