Kalei

Senior Doula and Childbirth Educator

Aloha! My name is Kalei Vellalos. I live in Manoa Valley on the island of ‘O’ahu. My husband and I have been married for 18 years, and together have 6 children. I have been a homeschooling mom for 16 years.

My journey as a doula began after the birth of our first daughter, Ilihia. She was born to us when we were young. She lived for a short 9&1/2 hours. But, in that time she taught me how to advocate for, and educate myself. She is a huge reason why I am able to mother all of the babies we’ve been blessed to keep on this earth with us. I have been a doula from long before I knew I could acquire a certification and make a career out of it. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been the one that women turn to for encouragement, education, breastfeeding advice, and any troubleshooting they might need throughout their pregnancy and breastfeeding journey. However, in 2018 I began my journey to becoming a doula “on paper”. My certifications have all come from Maternity Wise Institute.

The purpose behind becoming a doula is to stand in the gap for those women and families who find themselves in need of support, advocacy, encouragement, and positivity while on the unpredictable journey of becoming parents. I believe that each of us have a responsibility to one another to be kind, helpful, and willing to meet each person where they are at. I have been blessed to support many families in the passed few years, and I look forward to supporting as many as the Lord blesses me with!

Be blessed,

Kalei
