Labor and Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula
Aloha and congratulations on your pregnancy and upcoming birth! The journey to parenthood or parenthood again is such a beautiful, wild, wondrous, sacred time and I’d be honored to support you and your family through your birth.
Since childhood, I’ve been fascinated by the power and transformation that birth can bring. I dreamt of becoming an OB/GYN but fell in love with a different helping profession first: I studied Sociology in college and went on to get my Masters of Social Work, specializing in Non-violence Education and Community Outreach. I was lucky to spend my early career as an advocate and lobbyist in Arizona, working to change policy to better support survivors of domestic violence. I’ve also worked in development, event planning, volunteer management, and as a Congressional Senior Caseworker. Common themes throughout my experience are advocacy, social justice, and empowerment, which inform my work as a birth and postpartum doula.
My husband and I have three children, all of whom were born abroad. My personal experience with incredible doula support sparked a renewed interest and I began my birth and postpartum training when my second child was young. We’ve lived in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Alaska…you name it! In 2022, we landed on the North Shore of Oahu, where I enjoy surfing (very poorly!), running, reading, and relaxing on the beach with a cup (or two) of coffee.Â
I believe your best birth is one where you are informed, centered, and feel supported, safe, and encouraged. I look forward to meeting you!
