Aloha!
I believe that childbirth education enables empowerment and positive birth outcomes. I like to teach with joy and positivity, sharing evidence-based information to help you and your partner increase your confidence.
On a personal note, I have lived on the Windward side of Oahu for the past 20 years. In February of 2007 our first child was born at Castle Medical Center and then three years later, our second daughter came along. We took classes in preparation for each birth and what we learned, coupled with our own experiences, changed my life. After talking to friends about their individual birth experiences, I realized that there is a significant need to empower women through childbirth education. I became certified in Lamaze Childbirth Education and started teaching! My experience ranges from private classes, childbirth classes on base at “New Parent Support Programs as well as a Lamaze instructor at Queens Medical Center (5 years) and Castle Medical Center.
Each woman handles labor and birth differently. With the opportunity to find her own “right path,” through childbirth, a laboring woman will have a much more positive experience and “birth story” to tell her own children.
Birth has the potential to have such a positive impact on a woman’s life and I look forward to helping you through this journey.
