Certified Labor and Birth Doula, Licensed Massage Therapist
Aloha, and welcome to your next steps as a growing family!
I’m Desireé Turner—a certified birth doula, prenatal/postpartum massage therapist, and lifelong nurturer at heart. My doula journey began very part-time in 2018, and I fully stepped into offering birth support in 2025.
My path into healing began early. Growing up in a small country town in Utah as the youngest of five, I was always called on to ease the tight shoulders and aching backs of my parents and older brothers. As our family grew, I had the privilege of being deeply involved in my nieces’ and nephews’ lives—first watching them grow up, and now admiring as they bring their own families into the world. These sacred transitions have shown me the power of a strong, interconnected tapestry of support—something I now aim to offer every growing family I serve.
With over 16 years of professional massage experience, I’ve come to deeply understand and read how the body holds stress—and how intentional touch can bring relief, grounding, and healing.
My work has centered around two seemingly opposite, but equally essential specialties: prenatal massage and athletic/medical bodywork. One supports softness, empowerment, and emotional connection. The other restores balance, relieves pain, and enhances function for those with physically demanding lifestyles. Living in that contrast taught me something profound: each body carries a story—and every chapter deserves skilled, compassionate care. That understanding naturally led me to birth support and has taught me to bring all these attributes into every situation.
As a doula, I provide intuitive emotional support, physical comfort techniques, advocacy, and a calm, grounded presence. My approach is flexible, centered on you—your strength, your choices. My goal is for your birth to be your most beautiful and empowering experience.
I’m so honored to walk beside you on this journey.
Our doula, Desireé, was invaluable. This was our first baby and my husband and I decided to hire a doula so that she could help him and my mom best support me during labor and delivery. During pregnancy, Desireé sent me tons of valuable information, which made me feel informed and empowered about the birth process. I also received a prenatal massage from her, which was very relaxing. During labor, she advocated for a calm and uninterrupted labor environment when distractions arose, she suggested position changes, and she helped me stay as comfortable as possible with the use of her fan, counter pressure on my lower back, and a rebozo shawl to help get baby into position. She worked with my husband and my mom to keep me cool and help me cope with intense contractions. After I gave birth, she continued to check in and promptly connected us to a lactation consultant when I struggled to breastfeed and a referral for an infant chiropractor at our request. We are so glad we decided to hire a doula this time around. Desireé is an absolute gem. Anyone would be lucky to have her support. I highly recommend Best Birth Hawaii.
